Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 136 of the United Association is located in Evansville, which rests quietly on the Ohio River in southern Indiana. Evansville is a city of southern charm with its riverboat gambling and small town feel. Its diversified economy thrives with manufacturing facilities such as

Sabic Innovative Plastics,

Mead Johnson, AK Steel, Toyota, Alcoa, plus many more. It also has one of the largest concentrations of coal-fired electric generating plants in the United States.

UA Local 136 was chartered on April 14, 1900, with the determination of 11 founding fathers. These men saw the need, had the insight, and took action to make the future brighter for men and women working in the piping industry

in southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois.

UA Local 136 has state-of-the-art journeyman and apprentice Training Centers. A Training Center is located in Evansville, Indiana, with another center under construction in Bedford, Indiana. We are approximately 1,800 members strong and

continue our commitment to organizing the unorganized.

Our goal is to ensure the job is done right the first time,

on budget, and on time.
