136 Apprentice Programs
Our Apprentices are required to spend
7,500 hours on the job, under supervision, over a 5 year period;
as well as successfully completing 246 hours of related classroom
instruction during each of the years.
Apprentices will be paid while on
the job, at a rate which is determined by the Collective Bargaining
Agreement in effect at the time, and based on the number of years
they have been in the program.
During the 5 year apprenticeship over $20,000 is spent to
educate each apprentice. The only cost to the apprentice is the
price of the books.
Basic requirements to apply are as follows:
1. Must be 18 years of age by March 1st.
2. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
3. Citizen of the United States of America.
4. Physically fit to perform the work of
the trade.
5. Successful completion of State Employment Service aptitude examination.
6. Must pass drug test prior to entering and be drug-free.
7. Possess a valid driver's license.
8. Solid Basic Math Skills.
9. Proper Attitude. |
